5/3/08 - Starting 4th in his heat race, Shaun started a steady climb towards the front.  Working on second place for 3 laps cost Shaun the time he needed to go for the win in the caution free 10 lap heat race; he would finish 2nd.  Starting 7th in the feature, a car bicycled in front of him causing the field to check up.  Shaun got plowed over and turned around leaving him to restart the race 24th before a lap was even turned in.  A man on a mission, Shaun Brandel passed 16 cars to finish 8th place by the end of the 25 lap feature.  "Car worked great all night long.  I only wish the drivers behind me used there head a little more on the start so we could have started the feature in 7th rather then get ran over and turned around to have to restart last.  We have some damage to the car to fix but we were still able to come up through the field like nobody else.  For some reason there were a lot of obstacles I had to overcome during the feature event tonight.   Dale Earnhardt Jr. said it best though, to be able to overcome obstacles and what looked to be a bad night from the start is almost as rewarding as a win.  We will take this positive momentum into next week" said Shaun.  Shaun currently sits 11th in the 2008 points standings.  Please check back periodically for more updates

 

4/19/08 - Saturday night marked the first race of the season at LANCO Speedway.  Shaun started 3rd in his heat and finished 4th holding off last years 600cc champion Mike Rutherford.  Starting 11th in his heat, Shaun struggled to get any kind of bite out of the race track as many drivers did.  Shaun would pressure Shane Lewis for the 10th position to the checker but finished 11th at the end of the 25 lap circuit.  "The track dried up a lot more then any of us expected for opening night.  We struggled all night trying to get more forward bite out of the car.  We have compared notes with fellow Stallard Chassis cars and will hit the track this Saturday with some changes that have proven to win on other tracks.  I look forward to putting these changes to the test" said Shaun.  Shaun currently sits 11th in the 2008 points standings.  Please check back periodically for more updates.
